“Keep your voice down..” “Don’t be so aggressive …” “Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve…” “Who does she think she is?”
I’m guessing it does. Because the world we live in seems to conspire to fit women into an acceptable norm. With all the societal expectations we’ve internalized, and roles we’ve been playing, we’re being trained to live in a way that dulls our shine and keeps us small.
But here’s the secret: the people you admire? the ones you think are so fucking cool? They didn’t get that way by sitting in a corner being nice and quiet and crossing their legs; they got there by being unapologetically themselves.
And as much as you might like Cheryl Strayed to take you by the hand and metaphorically guide you along her Pacific Coast Trail of epiphanies, it’s not gonna happen – the only person who can get you to the understanding, insight, and confidence you crave is you.
The good news? You can get there by sitting down and writing. It’s as simple and as complex as that.
Simple, because it’s just pen to page; complicated, because it requires that you dig in to your experience and face yourself on the page in all your messy, unbridled, fabulous humanity.
So if you’ve seen all the TED talks, watched the Super Soul Sundays, read the self-help books, and listened to the podcasts, but the dots still aren’t connecting, you’ve come to the right place.
I’m here to help you make a stand for a life you want to live. With purpose … without apology. Without shrinking off in silence.
It’s time to get to work and make the most of your one wild and precious life.
