gifties for creatives – a gift guide of fabulosity

Last year I shared my very first curated end-of-year gifitie guide for creatives.
I had such fun collecting all the fabulous things,
and a lot of people got in touch telling me how much they liked it
… so I decided to do it again.

Here’s the second annual (i mean, it’s officially annual now, right?

Curated Gifties for Creatives ~ a gift guide of fabulosity

suggestions to help make your (or your favorite people’s) end-of-year
    – and the coming year – inspired, fun, and fabulous.

There are offerings that come from friends, colleagues, and/or fellow solopreneurs, and others come from cool places all over the web. Most of the gifts are under $25, one is actually free (hello? a free giftie? bonus), and a couple are just a little over $25.

Hope you find something for you and/or your peeps here.

And FYI: These aren’t affiliate links; I don’t get anything for recommending them…they’re just so cool, I wanted to share.

For the literary, Disney, and superhero fans in your life (among others), these hand-painted, custom made Rally Bird Brand shoes (or tote bags, jackets, coin purses, etc.) are the absolute bomb. Artist/maker/owner Casey Gill does commissions too, so you can get a super-custom giftie. (check out the “inflight entertainment,” and “be social” pages to see some examples of rally bird shoes, bags, etc. flying around the world.) Her “Chirp Change Purses” are $15, prices go up from there. (see more stuff on instagram)b

I LOVE Field Notes notebooks. They’re easy to toss into a purse or backpack for those times when carrying around a big journal doesn’t make sense. I fell in love with them not only because of their size, but because of a quote on the cover of one of them: “I’m not writing it down to remember it later; I’m writing it down to remember it now.” Sigh. Sweet. 3 pack: $9.95

This oversized canvas bag is a great place to carry your journals … and a whole lot of other stuff (i mean: look how big it is!). The Stay Home Club website has lots of other fabulous gifties; they describe them as “a range of lifestyle products for people with no life.” (so, y’know: funny stuff.)  $24

WHEN GUINEA PIGS FLY … AWESOME THINGS HAPPEN

Talented artist Leslie Anderson has prints and cards of guniea pigs in ridiculously cute and whimsical poses: doing yoga, wearing dinosaur costumes, and my favorite: dressed as a Jedi. (squeee!) The Jedi prints (among others) are $12, and cards are under $5.

screen-shot-2016-12-11-at-6-01-21-pmINSPIRATION AND FUN – NO FRIDGE REQUIRED

When I discovered that the stainless steel fridge in our new home was not magnetic, I was super-bummed. Sure it looked mega-schwanky, but … where would I put my Magnetic Poetry? (sad face) Luckily, I discovered that the company made stand-alone easels where I could display my magnets. (and order was restored to the universe!) I use Magnetic Poetry whenever I need a little inspiration to jumpstart my journaling, or just for fun. The mini word-kits start at $7.95, and the easels start at $9.95

    give-a-girl-a-journalGIVE A GIRL A JOURNAL

The Give a Girl a Journal project, envisioned and facilitated by the fabulous Jamie Ridler, puts journals in the hands of young girls so they can get started with this amazing practice. You can nominate a girl to receive a journal, or you can sponsor a journal to be given (or both). It costs just $20 to gift a journal, and it’s a gift that never stops giving.
