Writing for Self Care

an every-other month FREE one hour gathering to create some stress-relieving sanity in a crazy-ass world

These are some crazy-ass times.

(and yes, I think that should be an official term for what’s going on ...).

I knew that going from 2020 to 2021 didn’t really change anything, but the fact that this new year started the way it did? WTF?

We’ve now hit a full year of lock-down, and even though there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel, it’s still a long tunnel..

It just feels like one thing on top of another every. damn. day.

It’s crazypants.

And I don’t know about you, but somehow, hitting that 1 year mark of lockdown brought feelings that may already have been swirling around into a higher gear: fear, anger, hope, extreme unsettledness, and stress, stress, double-stress.

And now that things are opening up some, it feels weird and foreign to see people other than my husband and vaccinated family. I feel like I’ve become a different person, and I wonder if I’ll ever feel like going out to dinner is not a dangerous thing again. So other than staying home, masking up when I go grocery shopping (even though I’m vaccinated and the CDC says I don’t have to), and still, let’s be honest: watching so-many lighthearted movies and TV on my iPad, I‘ve been doing what I do when I don't know what the hell to do … I write.

Writing has been proven to help ease stress and lighten the load of mental swirling and anxiety.

So while we’re all figuring out who we are after this surreal year and a half, the FREE Writing for Self Care sessions continue, in an effort to give women a chance to come together to vent, share, lean on one another, and create a mini oasis of sanity in this crazy-ass world.
